Gauze Hydro
Gauze impregnated with superabsorbent gel. On exposure to fluid the gel swells and helps maintain a moist wound healing environment.
Advanced wound dressings such as sheet hydrogels are widely accepted to have real benefits in terms of wound management, pain control, healing rates and cosmetic outcomes. Yet still the majority of dressings used today have low technology gauze wound contact pads. This is largely the result of additional production costs associated with advanced dressings.
First Water has developed a new gel-in-gauze hybrid technology that bridges the gap between the traditional and modern wound care. This material has been designed specifically for processing on high-speed dressing conversion lines for the finger bandage and post-operative dressings markets.
The gauze quickly absorbs blood or wound serum, and the super-absorbent gel within the pad locks away excess moisture, swelling in the process and protruding to create a gentle, moist, soft and non-adherent wound contacting interface.
The material is supplied in master rolls for conversion on established production lines. Please contact us for more information.
